I've been doing research through the web for quite a time now trying to access my files and make sure everything is backed up before im formatting anything, but it seems to be inaccessible to browse, read or copy from.

I assume that what happend is either it was disconnected inappropriately while doing some time machine routine, or it had a power problem while connecting via hub to MacBook Pro 2016 (had to use a hub to convert usb2 to usbc).

No matter how I try to mount this either via firewire or iSCSI it just won’t mount. (I have read all about the atto situation) but it shouldn’t have uninstalled the initiator. Recently I finally said yes to one of Dashboards’s requests to upgrade. It would lose the connections when computer slept etc. Prior to that I had been connecting this Pro via iSCSI to my mac running 10.10.5 fairly ok. Two and half days later it came out of data protection mode. So, I swapped the red lit drive for a larger one.
